COMMUNITY GROUPS Chess Club Of Hemlock Farms The Chess Club of Hemlock Farms welcomes chess
players of all levels, and those who wish to learn the game. For those who desire, free lessons and instruction
are available. Meetings held weekly, each Thursday (except holidays) at The Church
at Hemlock Farms The Church at Hemlock Farms, on The Columbia Italian-American Club, Inc. (CIAC)
was founded in 1998 in Hemlock Farms as a not-for profit organization to honor
and foster our Italian heritage which has a rich culture in the arts, sciences
and philosophy. Our objective is to learn about our culture; to honor it;
promote it; and pass it on to future generations. Our charitable mission is to
be of service to our community and to help in situations where needed. Examples
are a scholarship fund, donations to local service and religious groups and the
identification of needy families. We seek to promote good will through good
deeds. The CIAC is a socially active group and we enjoy each other’s company. Our mission is to foster friendship among our
members and to stimulate intellectual advancement. Occasionally we conduct programs, inviting
speakers to discuss subjects of interest to enlighten our members about our
rich Italian history and culture. We
have fund-raising activities for charitable purposes. Our goal is to enlist
others with similar interests and backgrounds to join us in contributing to the
growth, understanding and appreciation of our heritage. For membership
information call (570)775-1845. Computer Club The Computer Club is a computer user group in
Hemlock Farms. It is open to residents
of Hemlock Farms who use computers. (It
is not necessary to own one). The club
serves a forum for open-ended discussions on computing. There is a beginners segment at the early
part of the meetings. We are not a
"computer course", those are available at local high schools and
computer stores in the area. Our
meetings start in April and end at the end of November. We meet the second
Wednesday of each month at Country Club Lords Valley Country Club is a private,
member-owned club located within Hemlock Farms.
The use of its facilities, which include an 18-hole Championship golf
course, ten har-tru tennis courts, an Olympic size
swimming pool and various dining locations, are limited to club members and
their guests. For further information

our Club invites all people interested in a free exchange of opinion on various
subjects related to national or international politics, science or medicine,
business or social issues. We meet once
a month in the Fishing
& Boating Club of Hemlock Farms The Fishing and Boating Club of Hemlock Farms meets once a month from
April to September. It is open to all
Hemlock Farms residents. For
information, call Vinny at (570) 775-9379. Fifty Plus Club The 50+ Club, founded in 1981, is open to Club events are posted in Hemlock Happenings,

Rescue Company Auxiliary This voluntary organization is engaged in
activities to raise funds for the Fire & Rescue Company. Its members meet the first Friday of each
month. ( The Happy Hookers A group of Hemlock Farmers interested in
handcrafts got together in January 1994 to combat "cabin fever," have
been meeting all year round and growing in numbers ever since. Our purpose is to learn from each other in a
relaxed fun atmosphere. "The Happy
Hookers" welcome accomplished crocheters,
knitters, embroiderers, etc., as well as beginners who would like to improve or
learn new skills. Meetings are held on
Thursdays - Hemlock Farms Babe Ruth Youth Organization This is an adult organization that is dedicated
to administering to the youth of the community in conjunction with the Wallenpaupack Babe Ruth League. The group performs such functions as league registration,
securing sponsors, supplying equipment and uniforms, fund raising, securing
permits for fields and facilities and enlisting volunteers for such positions
as coaches, umpires, groundskeepers and team parents. Special events will be announced in the

Farms Landscape Club Established in March 1998, the Landscape Club, a
volunteer organization of Hemlock Farms residents, is dedicated to the
enhancement and preservation of our community’s appearance. Our projects
include the design, planting and maintenance of Hemlock Farms Entrance,
Administration Building, Steer Barn & the water feature, Mailroom, 9/11
Memorial, and the Public Safety Building. The Club’s projects are coordinated
with Management and completed with participation of our members and the Public
Works Department. We include native plants, disease and deer resistant
specimens in our planting choices. A portion of the monies needed to sustain
our work is derived from fund raising projects including the "Gift Tree
Program", plant sales and individual and corporate donations. Our
"Donor Recognition Tree is on display in the Steer Barn lounge.
Qualifications for membership: A desire to create, learn and work with other
club members. Experience not necessary! Community pride

Fire and Rescue Company The Hemlock Farms Volunteer Fire & Rescue
Company would like to welcome you to the community. Our company provides fire, rescue and The Hemlock Forum We're a free, non-commercial e-mail discussion
group where Hemlock community members can talk about the issues that concern
us. Also, great for staying in touch
with friends or making new ones. To

of three representatives from each of the three organized religious groups
serving Hemlock Farms, namely: The
Church at Hemlock Farms, the Jewish Fellowship of Hemlock Farms and St. John
Neumann-Good Shepherd Parish. It
conducts programs designed to increase interfaith understanding through
activities such as its annual Memorial Day and Thanksgiving Services. Jewish
Fellowship of Hemlock Farms The Jewish Fellowship of Hemlock Farms, the only Jewish presence in Jewish
Women International Jewish Women International joins Jewish women
together to advance the quality of life for themselves, their families, their
community and society at large. Regular meetings are held one Sunday a month,
May through October, with many events scheduled throughout the summer. For a complete calendar or information, call

organizations and individuals in Hemlock Farms. MANNA, whose services are

Group The Hemlock Farms Writers Group meets the 2nd
& 4th Monday
of the month at the Orchard House.
Sessions are to share a love of writing.
We critique each other’s works, with inspiration, support and
encouragement. Genre ranges from
vignettes to short stories, poetry and novels. Serious writers are always

philanthropic organization which conducts fund raising gatherings and
educational programs. Recipients of our philanthropic endeavors include the Library,
Fire and Rescue, Manna, Safe Haven, Food Pantry, Support Our Troops, and our
Adopt-A-Child Program. The Club meets the second Saturday of each month at Scarlet
Divas Red Hat Society The Red Hat Society began as a result of a few women deciding to greet
middle age with verve, humor, and élan. We believe silliness is the comedy
relief of life, and since we are all in it together, we might as well join
red-gloved hands and go for the gusto together. Underneath the frivolity, we
share a bond of affection, forged by common life experiences and a genuine
enthusiasm for wherever life takes us next.

with a sincere interest in our community’s future. The Club’s purpose is to communicate,
educate, and exchange ideas and make suggestions relevant to Hemlock
Farms. We seek to provide a forum for
open two-way communication and provide an opportunity to meet your
